Mental Health on a Global Lense

In 2020, HealthRight Kenya (HRK) began implementing a 3-year mental health project (MMHP) funded by Comic Relief. The project aimed at Improving the Mental Health of Perinatal Women in Nairobi’s Informal Settlements by reducing anxiety and depression during pregnancy and after birth, leading to mothers’ improved well-being and functioning.
MMHP collected qualitative data to evaluate the mental health of perinatal women between 18 and 49 years through focus group discussions (FGDs) and implementing an Interpersonal Group Therapy (IPT) intervention.
