Goal: Adapt and pilot test Birth decks in 3 maternity waiting homes and at the community level in West Pokot County through community co-creation with key stakeholders namely: County Nursing department, County community health strategy focal, CBO representative, CHEW and CHV.

Achievements

1. Established three “KIROS”, Maternity Waiting Homes, to address pregnancy complications and improve maternal health outcomes.
2. Integrating the World Health Organization’s Self Help Plus (SH+) “Doing What Matters in Times of Stress” (DWMITS) framework.
3. Trained 14 Community Health Promoters, 2 Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs), 2 CBO’s representatives and 1 SCHMT on DWMITS & Birth Decks
4. Engaged 26 stakeholders to the study & reached 224 people directly
5. Sensitized 84 women on the study intervention (Intervention site)
