GBV Awareness through Intergenerational Dialogues
Intergenerational Dialogues within the Pathways of Change Project have proven to be one of the effective channels through which HealthRight Kenya engages the community on the dangers posed by Gender-Based Violence within the society. Our session with residents of Sikusi Village, Kabuchai Sub-County, was full of life and featured an open discussion across age groups on the “triple threat” of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), child marriage, HIV, and the often-overlooked issue of mental health.

This engagement, in partnership with Bungoma County Government, brought together 62 community members aged 17 to 75 years, the local chief, Community Health Promoters (CHPs), Ministry of Health (MOH) officials, and local partners. All present promised to drive community-led solutions and play their role to ensure safety and good health.
Dialogues create community-wide awareness and learning, while actively engaging men and boys as allies in addressing GBV, child marriage, HIV, and mental health challenges. These open conversations between generations help break harmful norms, reduce stigma, and strengthen collective responsibility for positive change.
